New Batteries!

Apple is recalling some 1.8 million batteries (!) sold in the 12-inch iBook G4, 12-inch PowerBook G4 and 15-inch PowerBook G4 laptops.

I wouldn't have known had i not stumbled on this news report.

It turns out that my PowerBook's battery is one of the 700,000 batteries sold abroad (the other 1.1 million were sold in the US).

Whoopiedoowhoop! A free new battery in place of a 2 year old one! It's been trouble-free so far, but i'll be sure not to use it without the AC adapter till the new one arrives.
